Do you smell that?

To the over three-hundred, under-resourced families living right here in our region, when you and I make a simple grocery run or sign up to spend a few hours serving, it smells like roast turkey, sweet potato casserole, hot-buttered-rolls and hope — hope that they are seen, that they matter, that better days are still to come, and maybe, just maybe, there is a God who is for them.

Listed to below are two simple ways we can saturate our region in the wonderful smells of Thanksgiving! Let’s all pick one and help every family in our community bring hope home. Loving our community really is that easy.

1. Make a Grocery Run

(or fund one!)

2  cans of green beans

2  cans of corn

2  boxes of cake mix

2  cans of icing

2  boxes of stuffing

2  cans of cranberry sauce

1  5lb bag of russet potatoes

1  pkg of a dozen rolls

2  large cans of sweet potatoes

2  boxes of mac and cheese

In total, we will need 350 bags of potatoes, 350 packages of rolls, and 700 (each) of everything else! Bring all donations Sunday morning, November 11th, to the main auditorium at First Christian Church, before or after all services.

2. Sign Up to Serve

You will find all the details and a huge listing of time slots available for serving located at the Connection Point in the foyer on campus at FCC. If you’d like to serve this year, be sure to stop in and sign-up so you don’t miss your chance! If you have questions about serving or want more information, email Pastor Greg at gbryant@fccdyersburg.com.
